Cameroon textile programme / Section 08 · Communications calendar

Twelve months in three phases.
Close the year with measured evidence.

Pre-launch (M1 to M3) tells the SODECOTON provenance story and briefs founding buyers. Launch (M4 to M6) opens retail, e-commerce and institutional outreach. The sustained phase (M7 to M12) turns logged quality into tenders, distributors and a measured Year-1 report.

Communications move in lockstep with the factory, so promises never outrun evidence.

Section 8 of the Feasibility Study paces the year in seven campaign windows. The white thread inside the ring is the proof ply: each message is punched only where the factory already holds its evidence.

Step 01 · M1 and M2 · Origin

Tell the origin story before there is a product.

Cameroon grows more than 300,000 tonnes of seed cotton a year (314,455 tonnes in 2023, about 340,000 in 2024) across more than 220,000 northern growers , yet about 95 percent of the fibre leaves raw . Each thread is one percent: five stay. PR and trade press open on this gap.
State of the thread
The 2030 state is the SND30 target, not a result .

Step 02 · M3 · Briefings

Brief founding buyers with the inspection standard, not a promise.

The five local threads ply into one cotton thread: northern growers, SODECOTON's nine ginning plants , the finishing room, the founding buyers. Their briefing shows the garment beside the standard: computer vision above 90 percent accuracy across more than 40 defect types, against 60 to 70 percent for manual inspection .

Step 03 · M4 · First collection

Release the first collection with its provenance attached.

The online channel the campaign reaches grows 13.41 percent a year, from US$20.32m (2023) to US$33.61m (2027) . Each care label resolves back through six lots. Walk them, or open the Trace-a-garment simulator.

Link 1 of 6 · Gin lot. The upstream boundary of the record. A recorded gin lot does not identify a farm or authenticate the fibre.

Link 2 of 6 · Lint bale. Carries the gin-lot reference as its parent, with an accountable operator, a location and an event time.

Link 3 of 6 · Yarn lot. Names the bales it consumed. A blend would need a richer record than a single parent reference.

Link 4 of 6 · Fabric roll. Points to its yarn lot. A missing yarn reference at this link is where a trace would stop.

Link 5 of 6 · Cut bundle. Splits a roll into bundles. Each bundle keeps the roll reference, so the chain stays one line.

Link 6 of 6 · Garment. The care-label serial a Month-4 buyer can read. It resolves back through the five links above it.

Illustrative single-parent model, not proof of physical origin.

Step 04 · M5 and M6 · Retail and B2B

Move from awareness to the shop floor and the first uniform buyers.

Retail activation in Douala and Yaoundé drives domestic sell-through, while the first B2B meetings with institutional and uniform buyers prepare the tenders of Months 7 and 8. The ochre branch leaves the stage toward them, and the tape advances to Month 7: the second half of the year starts there.

04 / Month 12 · The proof card

The Year-1 report prints metered ratios, not marketing adjectives.

Sections 5 and 8 of the Feasibility Study tie each sustainability claim to its measurement; Deliverable 2 specifies the logs the Month-12 report is compiled from.

Turn six months of quality logs into B2B uniform contracts.

6 monthsof logged on-time-in-full and first-pass yield behind the first tender bid

A consumer launch creates awareness; repeat orders and institutional contracts fill the line. Direct sales and tender teams bid for corporate workwear and school uniforms on audited first-pass yield and on-time-in-full records, while e-commerce runs repeat-buyer campaigns.
