For a locally made garment sold within Cameroon, this model assigns no import duty at a national border. It still includes local freight and allocated handling. Open describes the domestic route in the instrument, not an exemption from business registration, product standards, domestic tax or buyer requirements. Confirm the delivery location and who pays for distribution before comparing it with an export sale.

Model boundary, domestic sale without a customs border.

  2. Regional terms need checking

A common external tariff is not an internal shipment rate.

    Route landed costXAF 6,150
    • The Cameroon National Shippers’ Council reports the CEEAC common external tariff in Cameroon from 1 January 2026.
    • It concerns trade with third countries, not a garment entering a member state.
    • The regional tariff stays an assumption until a destination is named.
Try an entered ordinary tariff (illustrative)
    Read the full note

CEMAC and CEEAC are grouped here as a planning destination, not treated as identical legal arrangements. The Cameroon National Shippers’ Council reports implementation of the CEEAC common external tariff in Cameroon from 1 January 2026. Its description concerns exchanges with third countries. That fact does not establish the rate faced by a Cameroonian garment entering another member state. Identify the actual destination and verify regional origin, approval, transit and clearance conditions. The regional tariff input remains an assumption.

The programme annex flags textiles and clothing among unresolved AfCFTA categories (R23). That annex is a dated evidence boundary, not a live product-level tariff determination. This mapper therefore grants no automatic continental preference. Enter a checked destination rate for planning and obtain the current tariff concession, implementation position and product-specific origin rule for the exact garment. A zero entered rate remains a user assumption; it does not change the unresolved policy status.

    Read the full note

The programme annex records termination of Cameroon’s AGOA eligibility effective 1 January 2020 (R18). USTR’s country page, opened on 30 October 2026, states that Cameroon is not eligible this year. The gap in the schematic represents that unavailable preference, not a ban on all US imports. The cost estimate uses your entered ordinary duty assumption. Check the full applicable US tariff, any additional measures, classification, origin and product compliance before relying on a quotation.

The European Commission describes Cameroon’s interim or stepping-stone Economic Partnership Agreement with the EU. Access2Markets describes duty-free and quota-free access and the conditions for preferential origin. Merely shipping an imported garment from Cameroon does not establish its origin. The instrument starts with origin not established and applies your entered ordinary rate. Select the confirmed origin scenario only to model a shipment whose applicable origin and proof requirements you have independently checked. The selector does not perform that check or certify a product.

Modelled difference−744

Goods are XAF 5,000 and freight XAF 1,200 per garment. Fixed handling of XAF 100,000 across 1,000 garments adds XAF 100 each. With goods plus freight as the duty base, the entered 12% rate gives duty of XAF 744. These are calculations from illustrative inputs, not a market quotation.

Actual customs valuation may include adjustments that this two-basis switch cannot represent. Obtain a broker’s valuation and tariff check, including specific or compound duties. This tool does not assess legal origin, audit suppliers or replace the commercial contract. The last equation line is the reconciliation identity; the display rounds for reading while the model and CSV keep calculation precision.

What the number leaves out

The estimate stops before the full sales case.

VAT, excise, additional levies, trade remedies, brokerage outside entered handling, testing, certification, compliance work, financing, inventory time, distributor margin and buyer credit are excluded. Their absence is not a claim that they are zero.

A cheaper route in this arithmetic may have no buyer or require a different specification. Use the model to locate the next question, then test it with a real freight quote, classification and origin file. Freight must match your price basis, and all routes use XAF equivalents you supply; no exchange rates are fetched. Planning aid only. Not investment, legal or tax advice.

Five lanes end at one sale.

The desk prices a garment on every lane. A buyer, a quotation and a customs file decide whether any lane carries it.

A preference is one condition of a sale.

A low modelled border cost does not establish demand, product compliance, proof of origin or the buyer's ability to pay. Choose a destination, classify the garment and obtain a current shipment-specific tariff check before quoting.
